Q: WHY BOOK WITH afterglow studios?

A: My expertise is your peace of mind. “Putting your best face forward on the best day of your life” is what we do best. No detail will go unchecked - your outfit will be dressed and pinned professionally, your hair and makeup will last, and you can concentrate on celebrating your day feeling your best. Not only will you look great in photographs but most importantly in person.


Q: DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN WORKING WITH MY SKIN TONE/TYPE?

A: Neetu works full-time solely in the beauty industry - in doing so she is constantly presented with various skin tones and skin types. From the richest ebony complexion to the airiest vanilla, we cover all skin tones. All our freelance artists have experience with skin concerns such as scars, redness, uneven skin tone or acne; we will be able to help you look radiant for your wedding. 


Q: HOW LONG DOES A MAKEUP APPLICATION AND HAIR STYLING TAKE?

A: To ensure perfect makeup, hair styling, and/or dressing services, we have determined minimum booking times for our services. At the time of booking and/or trial (based on your look, hair length, or other factors), if you require additional time beyond our minimum booking time your artist will let you know immediately. Our booking times have included time to complete all booked services and additional time for any emergencies/changes to ensure you are satisfied with your final look. Our booking times do not include time for clients to get dressed, phone calls, bathroom, breaks, etc. Please note, our booking times are estimations and approximations! It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they have scheduled enough time before and after for additional items beyond the scope of our services. While every application may not require the full allotted time, as company policy we will always book your event using the timings stated below with no exceptions. The service time includes time for service, client changes, and touch-ups. For example, a Non-Bridal makeup service is 45 minutes for the actual hairstyling, 5-10 minutes for client changes, and 5 minutes for touch-ups.

Western Bridal (2 artists) - 1.5 hours minimum

Western Bridal (1 artist) - 3 hours minimum

Indian Bridal (2 artists) - 2 hours minimum

Indian Bridal (1 artist) - 3.5 hours minimum

Non-Bridal Single Service (Hair OR Makeup) - 1 Hour

Non-Bridal Two Services (Hair and Makeup) with 1 artist - 2 Hours

Non-Bridal Two Services (Hair and Makeup) with 2 artist - 1 Hour

Q: What is the difference between bridal and non-bridal?

A: The most important difference is the time which is spent on the application. When more time is spent on the application not only is the look going to last longer but it will be much more detailed. As mentioned above, a bridal service has typically 3 hours allotted which allows for intricate details in hairstyles and makeup. Whereas a non-bridal application is half the amount of time of a bridal application which means the details and intricacies are not comparable. Often bridesmaids or bridal party will request bridal looks but they will be notified that within the time limit and price of their package it is not possible.


Q: WILL MY bridal MAKEUP and hair LAST ALL DAY?

A: Professionally applied makeup will last the duration of your wedding day with proper care. Quality products are always used and steps are taken to ensure your makeup lasts. Additionally, we will provide you with tips for wedding day, touch-ups, and a list of must-haves. In order to have the best outcome with your makeup and hair, we ask clients to follow the tips and suggestions. Most of the bridal packages touch up kit which include items such as powder, blotting paper, etc. To ensure your non-bridal look lasts all day, it is important to carry blotting paper, powder and touch-up lipstick.

Q: Who are your artists?

A: As of 2019, we have switched to a subcontractor system and all artists are their own entities. The names of you artists are listed in your Google calendar upon booking. Afterglow Studios only maintains and oversees all scheduling of artists for your event. If you would like to review or rebook your scheduled artist for another event, please feel free to contact them directly.

Q: DO YOU do mobile bookings?

A: Yes, we are available for mobile bookings. Travel fees are determined by mileage, current gas prices, and time required to arrive to destination. For all travel fee quotations please provide your exact address. Travel fees start at $20 and are per artist. Where parking, valet, or toll fees may incur, clients are required to cover the cost.

Q: DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF VANCOUVER, B.C.?

A: Yes, we are available to travel.  We have had the pleasure to do destinations weddings on Alaskan cruises, Mexico, and all over North America.  Additional travel/accommodation costs are required to be covered by the client.  Contact us for more details.

Q: IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?

A: Deposits are non-refundable.

Q: HOW DO I BOOK?

A: To book your special day, please contact 778.995.4777 or info@theafterglow.ca.  A 50% deposit and signed contract is required to fully reserve your date. The remainder of your balance is due the day before services are to be rendered. If a payment has not been received then no artist will be scheduled to arrive to your location.  It’s very common for brides to book up to a year in advance hence we advise brides to avoid disappointment by booking their dates as soon as possible.
